The Government has published a series of technical notices aimed at providing both businesses and consumers with guidance on how to prepare for a no-deal scenario. Included in the series are the following notices on trade:
- Classifying your goods in the UK Trade Tariff if there is no Brexit deal – this covers how a no-deal scenario would affect trade tariffs in relation to both imports from the EU to the UK and exports from the UK to the EU;
- Trading with the EU if there is no Brexit deal – this covers how a no-deal scenario would affect businesses trading with the EU;
- VAT for businesses if there is no Brexit deal – this covers how a no-deal scenario would affect VAT for UK businesses;
- Trade remedies if there is no Brexit deal – this covers what a no-deal scenario would mean for businesses suffering injury from dumped or subsidised imports and unforeseen surges in imports.
