The information booklet from the EPO provides a concise overview of the most important national measures accompanying the implementation of the Unitary Patent in participating Member States, i.e. those that have ratified the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court.

The EPO says that the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court will supplement and strengthen the existing centralised European patent granting system. The new system will enter into force in spring 2023 and will offer users of the patent system a cost-effective option for patent protection and dispute settlement across Europe.
