Alex Kyrtsoudis

Associate

Alex is an Associate in the Intellectual Property team where he qualified in March 2022 after completing his training contract at Wiggin. He primarily works on contentious matters, and in particular those relating to patents, copyright and designs.

“My undergraduate degree was in Biomedical Sciences, and therefore intellectual property was always the area of law I was interested in, and I’m very pleased to be part of Wiggin’s excellent IP team.
My recent work has involved a broad range of IP rights. A large proportion of this work is patent litigation and I have worked on a range of patent subject matters including life sciences and industrial technology. I also actively work on (and have a number of years’ experience in) contentious and non-contentious copyright, designs and trade marks cases (prior to qualifying, I was a paralegal and a trainee in Wiggin’s IP team).

My contentious experience has involved enforcement work, arbitration proceedings, and cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and UKIPO. My commercial experience is also usefully broad, including work on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance and M&A transactions.

In 2022/23 I studied for and achieved the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice at the University of Oxford, which consolidated and built on my knowledge from practice.”
