Max advises clients across the interactive entertainment industry, from indie developers to AAA publishers on a range of regulatory, commercial and intellectual property matters.

“I advise games clients of all sizes, from indie developers to AAA publishers, to help them navigate the legal and regulatory challenges of developing, publishing, and growing games in a fast-moving industry.

My work covers a wide range of commercial and intellectual property matters, including publishing agreements, IP licensing, and content development deals—often with an international element. I also have particular expertise in advising on key regulatory areas that impact the interactive entertainment sector such as: online safety, monetisation, (including in-game / app purchases and digital currencies), consumer protection, and advertising compliance.

I’ve completed two in-house secondments with a leading publisher, supporting complex licensing negotiations and advising on the development and live support of a AAA title.

Outside of work, I’m a passionate gamer (video games, board games and tabletop), occasional skydiver and coffee enthusiast.”

Max has been recognised by The Legal 500 for his expertise in esports and has also worked as a freelance consultant within the interactive entertainment sector.
